The annual golf tournament has always been a competitive and fun event, and this year we are bringing it to a new level. We are supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County. This great organization is a lifeline to many youth in the area by offering learning programs and a safe place for them to stay after school. They depend on grants and donations, and we decided we would like to give back to the community in which we hold our event. We are inviting golfers from the community to join us for this great cause.

Play with a Pro Contego Services Group, LLC is sponsoring Ms. Randy Friedman at the event. Every golfer will receive a copy of her book, Your Inner Swing. As a golf professional for many years, Randy has worked with countless individuals and companies, including many Fortune 500 banking, insurance, and financial corporations. In addition to individual and group lessons, she was given the opportunity to run corporate events, give instruction clinics, and play with pros during her corporate outings. This opportunity is now available to you. She will be available to sign your copy during the after-tournament awards event. Purchase a raffle ticket in advance of the tournament for the opportunity to “Play with a Pro.” Two lucky foursomes will play with a professional golfer for nine holes. Reaching Out to Promote Our Industry – Beyond the Runway – Why General Aviation Means Business

We are inviting business and government leaders from the community to join us as we explain our industry to them. There are so many misconceptions about our industry, and we are working diligently to inform the non-aviation public about the importance of general aviation. Jeff Kohlman, Aviation Management Consulting Group, will be moderator for this interactive session on Wednesday morning, June 15. Even though our attendees know the industry, we are asking you to attend and talk with area leaders during the breakfast. It is a way for all of us to be advocates for general aviation and the airports we use.

Questions? Contact Executive Director, Paula Raeburn, (321)383-9662 or paula@fata.aero See you in Sarasota.

FATA Aviation Advocate

FATA is aware that there is a great interest in business and private aviation among those outside our industry. Aviation, especially business aviation, is vital to the overall economic development of any city, town, or community, regardless of size.

To allow these people a way to become involved in aviation, the Florida Aviation Trades Association is introducing a new program that allows nonaviation companies and individuals with a business or personal interest to become involved in the Florida aviation industry

For just $95 a year, an individual or company can become an Advocate Member of FATA, show support, and become actively involved in the business aviation industry. Individuals or companies will receive weekly e-newsletters, a subscription to our exclusive Florida Aviation Business magazine, and their names or businesses will be listed on our website, www.fata.aero, so that all members and visitors will know they are supporters and advocates for general aviation in Florida.

FATA Charity Golf Tournament at the Private Ritz-Carlton Members Club to Benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County

This private course is one all golfers will want to play. The club also offers the option of a caddy for your foursome. For an additional $25 per player, plus gratuity, you will have an expert with you to insure you have your best game. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County have played an integral role in the Sarasota County community for more than 40 years, providing daily programs and services to more than 5,500 children and youth. Clubs are located throughout the community where youth development services are limited or nonexistent. Members are encouraged to become an asset to society—through educational programs, community service, and healthy lifestyles. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
