Is It Time to Renew Your FABA Membership for 2017?
Last November, FABA changed from an annual renewal format to a rolling renewal system for membership. If your company joined FABA before October 2015, your membership renewal date is January 1, 2017. If your company joined FABA in or after November 2015, your membership renewal date is the first of your anniversary month. Membership renewals will be sent via email in December to the main contact on file for each membership. If you have questions or updates to the information on file, please email membership@faba.aero. Solar Impulse II Crewmember Pursuing Pilot’s Certificate
A 23-year-old Pittsburgh engineer, Paige Kassalen, became the first U.S. female engineer on the Solar Impulse II team. Tasked with catching and holding the composite wingtip to keep the airfoil from scraping the ground, Kassalen has found herself running next to the aircraft’s wing as it landed or gripping it to hold it against winds before takeoff.
